Father Lord, thank you for the ministering moment you bestowed me last Sunday during the Holy Communion. I am affirmed that everything is by divine appointment..
It all started with the Spirit Song.
(I wrote about an entry on my encounter with the Spirit Song on 28 September 2005)
A few weeks ago, I was asking Sister Serene over MSN if our church, Pentecost Methodist Church (PMC), ever sang the Spirit Song before during praise and worship.
Her response was a definite NO.
Why did I ask that question? I dun know..
A fortnight ago, the Holy Spirit prompted me that I must attend the Holy Communion on 6 Nov 2005, despite having an exam paper the next day…
On the eve of the Holy Communion, the Holy Spirit prompted me, “Spirit Song” just when I was in the loo?!
With many question marks in my mind and my heart, I wondered why the Lord prompted me “Spirit Song”… However, I didn’t dwell too much on it and went to bed. I had a great rest.
Holy Communion Sunday morning, I had a diarrhea and thought of not going to service but I was prompted to go. The strong feeling came again... I must go...
During the praise and worship, I was so filled with the Spirit and was dancing and lifting my hands high high up (those who know me well, know that I dun usually do that). So filled with the Spirit!
Alas, no Spirit Song. Kind of disappointed but didn’t really bother about it.
Then came the sermon by Pastor Aaron on Psalm 107 – thanksgiving to the Lord! So filled with the Spirit again, my heart is filled with lots of thanksgiving for the Lord all these while (of struggling).
After the sermon, the congregation entered into the time of Holy Communion.
In PMC, Holy Communion is served at the pulpit. Some may elect to kneel before the altar while some may elect to stand to receive the elements.
As the congregation is large, I was the third batch to partake the elements.
Methodist practice is such that hymns are sung by the congregation during the Holy Communion while waiting to partake the elements.
When it was my turn to come before the Lord at His altar, I stood in front of the pulpit. Hands were raised up to receive the elements from the Communion Stewards. While this is being done, the first hymn ended and the worship leader instructed us to turn to hymn number 347 of Methodist Hymnal Book.
With head bowed, I was preparing my heart to receive the consecrated elements of my Lord Jesus Christ with both hands reaching out to receive the elements.
Then..
The very familiar melody came.. tears just kept rolling down my cheeks..
It was the Spirit Song!
While the first verse of the Spirit Song was sung, I received elements from Pastor Dianne.
I was overwhelmed by the Lord’s arrangement.
Thank you Father God.
I am just so loss for words..
