Recruitment is cool!

Recruitment is so fun but very tiring. Although I’ve not been able to sit down on my comfortable chair the whole day and my legs ache because I’ve walking up and down. My cheeks also numbed because I’ve been greeting my candidates with a big grin to make them feel welcome to the company – publicity la... What to do... Hee…

Today I have to administer several aptitude tests for some positions and conduct interviews with some candidates for the position of QC inspector in Hi-P Singapore. It was definitely a very interesting and exciting experience to be able to interact with people from all walks of life. There’re many people who have very low education level and look very normal. There’re also many people out there blessed with good qualification and looks.

It was my first time conducting an interview on my own.

Kinda having the feeling that the fates of these people were partly placed in my hands. Well, sad to say, if these candidates couldn’t fit the organization culture or pass the aptitude test, there’s nothing I could do to save them. This is the code of professionalism and integrity in the HR field.

It grieved me to see this particular male candidate who was to take up the responsibilities to look after his (late) sickly father and younger sister after his mum passed away a decade ago. He had hard time making ends meet, now his dad has passed away, he was left with only a younger sister to take care of each other.

I mumbled a prayer for the three rejectees under my breath, praying to Father God to provide them with a way out soon, especially that gentleman who had a tough life in the past. =(

May the Lord’s blessings be with you.

My Lord, have mercy on them.
