Finally, SAF Day's over.. I'm counting down to my ORD clearance!!! 16 days to go!!! WOW!!!
SAF Day ended with a successful note, the Lord is very good, very very good. I've received handshakes, smiles, thanks and well-wishes from my fellow servicemen from all three arms of SAF! No contingent under our charge returns home with a complaint about transport.
Of course many people to thank:
1. Alex and Xinwei for all the coordination and hard work put in since late May. The many late nights burnt together.. the happiness, the joy, the disagreements, the heaty argument, the driving moments, the talk-cock sessions we had together. Memorable.
2. All the Transport helpers such as Junwei, Lionel, Zhipeng, Linus, Kelvin, Jeremy, Lian Biao and Shawn. Many thanks to them, if not for them, this transport coordination and collection of logsheets would be almost impossible for the three of us to bear.
3. The Officers, Senior Specialists, Marshaller ICs, and the diligent Marshallers from 3rd Singapore Infantry Regiment Battalion - without them, the directing of transports would be tough..
4. MSG Loh for his guidance and yes... at least we see him doing what he ought to be doing for the last few rehearsals. :) And.. thanks for all the offs that had been given and are to be given in time to come.. hahahaha!!!
5. Although I dont really like to thank this chap, but I think I still owe to him - MWO Tan CS (just got promoted today!! i cant believe this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), if not for his screwed up working attitude, we wouldn't be able to show that we're able to handle SAF Day transport on our own - 3 junior specialists with our men and our connections. HE SUX!!! A man who knows nothing about transport is to be the next Transport Command RSM!?! Oh man, but I must say he has good "people management" skills, a skilful archer (good at shooting arrows).. A critically important survival skill needed for incompetent personnel in an organisation.
Pardon me. What he did throughout the entire SAF Day Parade preparation? He only arrowed us to do his scope of work - dealing with other warrant officers, other higher ranks, we had to think of plans and put these plans in place, briefed him (no contribution from him lor) and then he told the RSMs at the meeting and said those plans AS THOUGH he was the one doing the planning and took all the credits. (FED UP) He only opens his big filthy mouth and hurled abuse at us, breathing down our necks, but thanks to him, we proved our worth! We can proudly say that the transport would still run without him. But I must say, God is good. God is with us all the times, that we may receive supernatural favour from the users. Praise be to God.
6. Many others who had supported us in one way or another.. Thank you!
Today's event ended with an interesting encounter with another serviceman from the airforce. Haha..
This chap from the airforce asked me for my mobile phone, I thought he wanted to borrow from me to make phone call, i was busy with my transport coordination so after I made a phone call, I just passed my phone to him. Then I continued with my busy work.. After a while, he took my phone and returned back to me.
He told me "Daniel, I stored my number inside your phone."
I was stunned. Then I thought to myself, "Okay, hmmm..." Then he continued, "I ask you out ok".. Then I was more stunned and thought to myself "OKAY!? HMMMM...."
But I thought he was very sweet, and wanted to befriend me. Very nice of him.. :) Then when his unit's bus is here, he came up to me, put both his hands on my shoulders, facing me, and said to me that he wanted to give me a kiss...
HUH!! I was very STUNNED BIG TIME.. But I acceded to his request because I thought it was okay as there were so many people around.. haha.. As he drew close, I felt uneasy so I didnt allow him to touch my cheek. Haahaa.. And worse of all, the whole world is staring at us.. opps.. No no.. nothing like Brokeback Mountain happening here ar... *disclaim*
But seriously I felt that he is just being friendly and no doubt he is a fine young man, a fine young gentleman who just wanted to show his appreciation to what I've done for them the last few weeks since the rehearsal started, in an interesting and unconventional way.
If we're not in a public setting, perhaps I would really allow him to give me a peck on my cheek. Quite affirming I thought. Haha.. But not very edifying though.. haha..
Anyway I thank this new friend for that. Should have given him a hug instead. Haha..
Although you wouldn't be reading this, I just pray that God will watch over you and guard your heart as you mature day by day. *hugz*
What an interesting way to end this SAF Day project! Haha..
Still, I must shout:
Thank God, it's OVER!!
