Saviour like a Shepherd leads me

Father God,

Today is Thursday, also the beginning of the new Support Group session. I am seeking the Lord for wisdom and considering how my fellow brothers and I may spur one another toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24) during the next 18 weeks..

I am mindful and dun wan to commit the same grave mistake made in the past. Dear Lord, allow me to forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead, and press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13:14)

Grant me Your Strength so that I could faithfully finish this race You've set out for me.

In Christ's Loving Name, amen.

The Book of Philippians spoke to me as Apostle Paul spoke about overcoming issues in Chapter 4 Verses 6-9 through Christ who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13), hor Lord! :)

The combination of virtues (whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy) listed in vv. 8-9 is sure to produce a wholesome thought pattern, which in turn will result in a life of moral and spiritual excellence. =) God, please grant me strength to exercise these virtues. Note Paul NEVER stop by asking to only think about those things we've received or heard from him, he asked us to put it into practice.

Putting it into practice is the part which I need alot of effort. I have the head knowledge but just can't put certain things into practice. Jesus, my Saviour, my Lord may You be like a Shepherd to lead me into Your pleasant pastures, keep Your flock, from sin defend us, seek us when we go astray. =)
Thank You Jesus!

Daniel, thank you so much for sharing the links about C.S. Lewis with your readers. I love his works and find that God speaks to me so much through allegory and these sorts of stories.

I hear in this your most recent post a strong mix of hope, anticipation and concern. Concern that you will not repeat your erros from the past.

John Smid once told me that a definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. How true.

I will pray for you that you get the support you need from the Shepherd who will lead you into all truth. The voice of a stranger the sheep will not follow.

Blessings on your journey.
Peterson
